Some more band slots.

QSL from 9G5X fell down into my mail box yesterday. Worked them on the few missing slots and also a new mode, RTTY. But I missed Ghana on 160 m.

Thanks to M0OXO for fast delivery of QSL and also confirmation on LoTW.
I didn't hear them well on 160 m. But I knew that a few SM worked them on "top band". But I have to try when the next operation from 9G happens. If any!?

I have sent a QSL request to JA0RQV for the A35JP/P QSO.

This morning when I looked out the window it was 1" of snow on the ground and temperature was minus -6 C ( 21 F ). But when the sun is up temp will rise fast.

YES! Wworked a few new IOTA's.

Finally I managed to get into the log of VE7ACN/7 and also KL7/VE7ACN. Worked from NA-061 and NA-041. And almost in the same time as I worked VE7ACN/7 I Heard  and worked A35JP/P from OC-123, Niuafo'ou. All 3 is new for me. QSL on order for the VE7ACN operation.

There is a lot of activity in the garden. I have put out the last of the sunflower seed's to the birds.

This is a great tit that has a seed in the mouth. But I also have this nice looking Squirrel.

And he/she is picking up what the birds drop on to the ground. So he/she is quite satisfied with Life in general!!??

New IOTA!

Yes! This is a direct delivery of a QSL. QSO was 12-Mar-2017. Ordered the QSL via Pay-Pal on 18-Mar 2017. And QSL arrived today! It was AS-126 Lipe Island. Call used was E20HHK/P and Operator was Choon.

This pushed my IOTA score up one more so now I have the fantastic sum of 488 Islands confirmed!!?? Not much to brag about but I'm getting there.

Been trying to chase VE7ACN/7. Heard him on 40 m CW this morning. Was Calling him barefooted while I was waiting for the 2,5 minutes delay in the PA to run out. And when PA was up and running he was gone!!!!! Well, I will keep on chasing him.

New Headset!

I was in need for a new Headset so I didn't need to swap my BM-10 between radios. I found this from a Swedish supplier by the name of "VKC Ham Shop". Owner is Peter, SM6VKC. The Headset is light and has a dynamic microphone and I just connected it to my TS-590S. And it worked just fine. Worked S21ZEE on 17 m without any problem in a quite big pile.

This is how it looks. Fine, or...........?? Picture taken with my I-Phone. It was a bit dark on the microphone but that was an easy fix by the radio DSP. So the TS-950SDX can now have the BM-10 Heil Headset with a HC5 element and this new Headset goes to TS-590S.

And this is the set up. And an ACOM 1000 can be used together with either of the transceivers.

Well, back to radio to chase NA-061, Kaien Island where VE7ACN/7 is at the moment.

Yes! Today I received SA-061, Mocha Island. Call used was XR5M and the QSO was 2017-Mar-11. And QSL arrived today!. QSL mgr IK2DUW understand the wording "Direct". Super!

So this pushed my IOTA score up one Point. Thanks to the team of XR5M.

Wx here in Sweden today is fine. Had some rain this morning but now the sun is shining from a clear sky and temp is 10 C ( 50 F ) and it feels so good!

QSL from TL8TT

Today I received QSL from the Italian Dxpedition Team with I2YSB at the helm. And as Always the QSL card is in super quality. Worked them on a few missing slots.

Nice to work Silvano and his team. Good operators and Quick QSL service.

We have had the first TS in the Southern part of Sweden. But still far away from my location. But this is the drawback with summer. That is the risk of getting hit by lighting. I Always take precautions to avoid damage of a hit as best as I can. But sometimes it can get a bit thrilling here.

CUL and remember that Life is to short for QRP!

Some snow in the air!

Today the temperature is around freezing. And some wet snow in the air. And the sun has gone over the horizon on the North Pole and will stay up there for the next 6 month's. Same but reverse on the South Pole. There has the sun disappeared for the next 6 month's. Reason for this is what is called vernal equinox. Summer is on the way!!

Not much  has happened on the radio. Worked a few missing slots for 9G5X and 5U5R. But I missed them both on 160 m. Also missed TU7C on 160 m. But better luck next time.

But as we are approaching summer it is soon time for this baby to come out and start working. And this will be fun.

Take care and CUL.

Worked KL7/VE7ACN!

Yes, finally I was able to get a QSO with Mikhail, KL7/VE7ACN from NA-041, Prince of Wales Island. A new one for me and I'm also confirmed in his On-Line Log. Super!

The Wood story has now come to an end. All logs have been split up and piled for drying. Here is one of the piles of pine and spruce.

I have two more in about the same size! So I have a few logs for the future. Well, this ends the story about the Wood. I will not bother you all any more in this matter.

Lot to do at the moment!

Yesterday I found that I was in the log of XR5M. Super, a new IOTA for me. QSL on order.

Managed to work 5U5R on both 40 and 80 m CW. 80 m was today around 4:50 Z. Also got a QSO with 9G5X on 15 m SSB.
And I have worked Vlad, UA4WHX on RTTY on 80 as YL/UA4WHX. Vlad has the best QSL's ever. Always a very fine Pictures. And I suspect it is Irina that take the photos, or.......??!!

I have been working with my trees. I have started to split them up in more suitable size for my stove.

Here is my hydraulic Wood splitter. Works just fine! Power about 5 metric tonnes.

And I have to pile up the Wood so it can dry out so I can use it in my stove.

Back to radio for chasing KL7/VE7ACN on NA-041. A new IOTA for me.

IOTA SA-061 QRV

SA-061 is QRV on the bands. Call they are using is XR5M. Been Calling them this morning on 40 CW but no QSO so far. Peculiar operation as it is very long between QSO's??!! But I will keep on chasing them. SA-061 is a new one for me so I want give up Calling!!

I have taken down two trees on my property. It was one pine and one spruce. Both of them had been damaged by Lightning so I was a bit concern that they would come down by them self! But now I have a lot to do to split them in smaller logs that will go into my stove.

So here you can see that I have a lot to do.

But one of the advantages of cutting down these trees is that I now can show you my vertical 160/80 m antenna. So here you are! The linear loading is for 160 m operation.

But it is almost in full camouflage. But I can assure you it is there!! Click on the Pictures to see them a bit larger.

Enjoy!

Snow!!!???

Yesterday morning I woke up to this!

Almost 10 cm ( 4" ) of the hated White fluff. Temperature was around -5 C ( 23 F ). But I had not put this on order so can any one come and take it away ASAP!!! Well, this morning forecast say temp around +5 C ( 41 F ) and some light rain. So hopefully it will go away.

Picture show my connecting post for my K9AY receiving loop's.

On the radio there is nothing to tell. The Sun have had some fun and made the radio waves go everywhere but not where I want them to go!!!

Talked to Andy, VK5MAV on 20 m on the 3:rd of March. And he was well in the clear during the QSO.

Well that's all for now. CUL

Friday 3 March 2017

New one on 160 m!

Just got the QSL from S01WS as I worked him on 160 m. This was a new one for moi!!! And here are the card!

Nice! And this will make me one Point closer to a DXCC on 160. But I have a few steps to go.

Been trying to catch VP6EU on my missing slots. But not a single "pip" so far in my receiver. But there is a few SM that has accomplish the task of getting VP6 in their log's. Two more Days to go!!??

Wx here in Sweden is warm for the season. But there is some predictions that it will get colder. At the moment it is 3,3 C ( 38 F ) and this is warm. Sky covered 8 octas and some light rain in the air.

Well, CUL.
