SH3Y in WPX Contest!

During WPX contest this weekend a team of youngsters from all over Europe participated In the Multi-Mulit class. There where 14 operators. And they came from Estonia, Belgium, Holland, Finland and Sweden. The record in SSB MM in Sweden was around 7,2 million points. During our start of the contest our friend the Sun played some tricks on us trying to spoiled our chance to break the record. But as the contest proceed the piles grow in strength and the points started to raise. So at the end of the contest the claimed score was over 12 million points. Amazing job from the youngsters aged from 12 to 25 years old. Fantastic job.
Here are a picture of very happy contesters after the contest.

Two operators are missing in the picture as they had to leave at the end of the contest. That's the reason for only 12 operators in the picture. Click on the picture and enjoy and hopefully you recognise some of them!

You can also check out a clip on you tube to see the moment when we break the old record and hear the joy from the operators.

The organiser and the one that made this happened was Johan, SA5BJM who had made a lot of work to get all together and made sure the logistic's worked. Great Job Johan.

The host of this event was Gunnar, SM3SGP who is the owner of the contest station SK3W. We had almost 5 operators in the air all the time. The 10 m station was changed during night to 160 m. Best bands was 20 and 80 m with 15 and 40 not far behind. So a BIG THANK YOU for letting the youngsters use your fine station with top of the line equipment.

Check out the clip and enjoy.

My part in this is very limited. I worked as a ground crew together with SM5DZB (most of the food was prepared by him together with Johan SA5BJM girl friend) SM5EPO and SM5SGP to make sure there was food on the table, all set -up in the radios was correct. Also made sure all power amplifiers worked during the whole time and transport to a near by facility for sleeping.

Now it is time for sleep!!!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
